Europe’s biggest football fan research project is now on Facebook

“FanLabs”, the international fan research project from Sharp, is now entering the next phase of its extensive study of football fans. A new Facebook profile www.facebook.com/SharpFanLabs has been launched as a platform for discussions, questions, answers and exchanges for football fans across Europe. In addition, special FanLabs apps for iPhone, iPad and Android are available for free download. Prizes that include exclusive tickets for the UEFA EURO 2012TM and AQUOS TVs are waiting for FanLabs participants.

In just under four months time, millions of fans will be celebrating the kick-off of UEFA EURO 2012TM in Poland and Ukraine. Germany and Spain are currently the most feared nations, whilst the two host nations are also seen as the unexpected surprise package, as they are one of the two most underestimated teams of the tournament. These are the first conclusions of Sharp FanLabs, after analysing the initial data collected at www.sharpfanlabs.com.

However, the battle for the crown in this Europe-wide research project of football fans is far from over. Now fans can also take the test and discover their own fan archetype by answering a few questions on the Sharp FanLabs European Facebook page www.facebook.com/SharpFanlabs or by using the mobile apps for Android, iPhone and iPad (iOS). Are the Spanish and Italian fans really the most passionate? Are the Germans really the most technically knowledgeable about football? Are the Croatians the most dedicated in support of their team? Sharp FanLabs provides the answers to these and many other questions. In addition, extensions to the survey and new questions regarding current events and topical discussion points will continue flowing into Sharp FanLabs in real time, in order to analyse the exact mood of the fans up to and during UEFA EURO 2012TM.

The new Facebook page will continue to provide fans with updated information on the fan research project and the latest results. Together with the possibility of networking with a European fan community, fans have a chance of winning not only selected Sharp products but also tickets for the opening match of UEFA EURO 2012TM as well as the opportunity to represent their country exclusively as Sharp’s Fan of the Match.
